How to Create Hyperlinked Words in Posts

From PCWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Okay, let's say that you wanted to provide an url to a site but you did not want to actually provide the url. Instead, you wanted to provide a word associated with the site or connected to the content of your post. There are two methods by which you can do this.

  • You can let the system do it for you by this method:
  1. Have the page to which you want to create the hyperlink open in another window or tab.
  2. In the line of characters immediately above the text editing box is an icon that looks like a few links of chain (to the right of the happy face).
  3. Click on the hyperlink icon (links of chain).
  4. This will open
  5. In the second line, enter the text that you want to appear in the hyperlink.
  6. Click on "Insert Link"
  • Or you can do it manually by this method:

Example Hyperlink www.yahoo.com with the word Yahoo

Put brackets [ ] around Yahoo | http : // www . yahoo . com (Take out all the spaces and you will see this):

Yahoo

If you are not sure where brackets are located on your keyboard:

- An open bracket is to the right of the P key

- A closed bracket is just to the right or the open bracket and to the left of the Backslash key (\).

Name City
Address 1 State Zip
Address 2 E-mail (optional)
