How to get a list of new content in the forums.
If you want a list of "new" or unread content, then click the View New Content link/button that should be located in the top right corner of every forum page. This link/button will take you to a page that can be set either to give you all content that you have not yet read or to give you a list of all content that has been added since your last visit to the forum.
To change which option it will give you, you have to go to My Settings option under the pull-down menu with your user ID on it that is located in the upper right corner of every forum page. It should take you to where you can change all your settings. That page should open to the Settings tab with the General Settings sub-tab selected. If you scroll to the bottom of that page, there should be an option titled "View New Content Method". The pull-down menu for that option will have two choices: "Show me all new content since my last visit" and "Show me all content that I have not read".
The former will show you all new content posted to the forum since your last visit to the forum. If you left some items unread the last time on the forum, it will NOT show you them, but it will show you all unread/new content since your last visit.
The later will show you all unread content that you have...period. Even if you have something that was posted a year ago and you did not read it, it will show up in that list. As soon as you have read all unread content, this list will be empty.
