WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR TOOLBAR AND TASKBAR (Vista)

From PCWiki

Yesterday I had what I thought was a catastrophic thing happen to me: I LOST MY TOOLBAR AND MY TASKBAR! complete with Internet Back and Forward buttons, Search Bar, et all, even my Gadgets (which I keep on top at all times) were gone!

I had been in another Website and when I went to post a comment, I inadvertently pressed one of the F keys (the ones above the numbers keys.)

Fortunately I was able to log off from that other website, and opened my Yahoo! email account. From the Yahoo! search bar I was able to access PCWorld Website. Once here, I was faced with the problem of not being able to go back to the previous page of anything!

In a panic I started a thread I called LOST MY TOOLBAR AND TASKBAR. The information for this Document is derived from that thread.

A couple of the members here offered their gracious support and assistance.

Then I thought to myself ~ *What would MPH do?* He would tell me to do the most simplest of things, and it would work! That's when I hit upon the idea that I want to share with you today:

  • PROBLEM:*

You just lost your Toolbar and your Taskbar and you have no idea how you did it, nor what to do about it.

  • SOLUTION:*

* 1 - Take your pointer and go all the way beyond the top of your screen.
* 2 - This will give a temporary Toolbar.
* 3 - VERY carefully, drag your pointer to the Tools and click on it.
* 4 - This will give you the Tools pull-down Menu.
* 5 - CHECK to see if there is a check mark next to Full Screen.
* 6 - If there is a check mark, then *UN-CHECK IT*.
* 7 - Your Toolbar and Taskbar will reappear.
* 8 - *THAT'S IT*. You're back in business.

+I guess it pays to be able to channel MPH.+
